Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and versatile educator to join the team at Irvine School for the 2026-2027 school year. Irvine School is located in a rural community approximately 20 km from Medicine Hat, serving 390 students from Grades K-9. The school provides dynamic learning opportunities and a cohesive learning community with a commitment to academic, athletic, and leadership excellence. We are seeking an energetic, passionate, positive, and flexible professional to join the Irvine School team and continue our tradition of teaching excellence. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Alberta Education Junior High Social Studies curriculum, as well as have a high degree of proficiency in executing student-centred learning. The position will include Social at the grade 8 and 9 levels, along with a CTF module, which may include either a Foods or Shop component. Successful implementation of disciplinary literacy and deeper learning strategies in a collaborative instructional culture is a priority. A desire to take a lead in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset.

Qualifications

● Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University ● Alberta Teaching Certificate

Terms of Employment

● 1.0 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract ● August 27th, 2026 to June 29th, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff, and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools, and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
