Prairie Rose School Division is inviting visionary educators to apply for the position of Vice Principal at Eagle Butte High School in Dunmore, Alberta, for the 2026-2027 school year. This dynamic role offers a unique split between administrative leadership and classroom instruction, providing the perfect platform for a leader who remains passionate about direct student engagement. As part of a collaborative leadership team, you will support approximately 600 students and a staff of 50 dedicated individuals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and a proven track record of leadership excellence. We are looking for an individual who is deeply committed to fostering effective relationships and nurturing a professional learning community. While not strictly required, candidates with a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum, as well as prior experience in a high school setting will be given strong consideration. We are looking for a leader who brings an entrepreneurial spark to the classroom and a desire to actively enhance our extracurricular programs. Qualifications
• Alberta Teaching Certificate • Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Master of Education Degree -- with a concentration in Leadership and Curriculum Studies is an asset • Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience • Completed or willing to complete the Alberta Leadership Quality Standards Certification course
Terms of Employment
● 1.0 FTE Probationary Administrative Designation Contract ● August 27, 2026 - June 29, 2027 (possibility for continuation)
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
