Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and versatile educator to join the team at Ralston School for the 2026-2027 school year. Ralston School is a candidate school for both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) and Middle Years Program (MYP) and is actively working toward authorization as an IB World School. We are seeking an educator who goes beyond an understanding of the IB framework—someone who embodies its mission and is committed to nurturing curious, knowledgeable, and compassionate young learners. Key Responsibilities ● Instructional Excellence: Deliver high-quality, inquiry-based instruction across a diverse portfolio including: ○ French (Language Acquisition): Fostering multilingualism and intercultural understanding ○ English: Deliver engaging and meaningful lessons in grade 6-9 Language Arts ○ Arts (Music & Visual Arts): Encouraging creative expression and aesthetic appreciation
Qualifications
● Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate ● Demonstrated ability to teach French, English, Music, and Art across across both Primary Years and Middle Years levels ● Experience working within an IB World School is considered an asset
Terms of Employment
• 1.0 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract • August 27, 2026 – June 29, 2027
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
