Elementary School Music Teacher

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, high energy Music Teacher to join the team at Isabel F. Cox and Margaret Wooding Schools, located in Redcliff, AB, for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the guidance of the School Principals, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in elementary music classes. Through well designed planning and organization, the teacher will exhibit excellent classroom management in the promotion of goals and standards as adopted and approved by Alberta Education. Using regular evaluation and reporting, the teacher will encourage and foster lifelong learning in students while maintaining confidentiality and open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a professional team environment while fostering and maintaining a positive, safe, and caring learning environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Passionate about music, performance, and teaching • Able to collaborate with grade level teachers to integrate music with other subject areas • Demonstrates a strong musical background complimented by sound instructional practices
Terms of Employment
• 1.0 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract • 2.5 days per week at Isabel F. Cox School (K to grade 3) • 2.5 days per week at Margaret Wooding School (grades 4 -6) • August 27, 2026 – June 29, 2027
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
