Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and highly skilled Specialized Learning Support Teacher to support students with complex learning, communication, and developmental needs at Margaret Wooding School. This unique role focuses on creating highly individualized, therapeutic, and student-centered learning environments that enable students to experience success, belonging, regulation, and growth. With guidance from the school principal, the successful candidate will work closely with school teams, families, and community professionals to design and implement programming that reflects the strengths and needs of each learner. About the Role The Specialized Learning Support Teacher provides individualized programming, therapeutic integration, and specialized instruction for students requiring extensive modifications to the learning environment. This role is grounded in a trauma-informed, relationship-centered, and inclusive approach aligned with Prairie Rose Public Schools’ strategic priorities. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree from an accredited university • Alberta Teaching Certificate The successful candidate will demonstrate: • A student-centered approach grounded in dignity, inclusion, and equity. • Strong understanding of complex needs. • Experience with individualized programming, modified curriculum, and therapeutic integration. • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-focused in dynamic environments. • Commitment to collaboration and reflective practice.

Terms of Employment

• 1.0 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract • August 27, 2026 – June 29, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
