Jenner School

Prairie Rose Public Schools (PRPS) is seeking to fill a 0.5 FTE teaching position at Jenner School for the 2026-2027 school year . Jenner School is located approximately 99 km north of Medicine Hat. AB, and/or 76 km east of Brooks, AB. Under the guidance of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in social studies and science for grades 3 and 4 in a multileveled classroom, and some elementary options, while fostering and maintaining a positive, safe, and caring learning environment. Small class sizes are a bonus of teaching at Jenner School. Through adequate preparation and organization, the teacher will exhibit excellent classroom management in the promotion of goals and standards as adopted and approved by Alberta Education. Using regular evaluation and reporting, the teacher will encourage and foster lifelong learning in students while maintaining confidentiality and open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a professional team environment. Understanding and appreciation of rural community school culture is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Comprehensive understanding of the Alberta curriculum

Terms of Employment

• 0.5 FTE Interim Teaching Contract • August 27, 2026 – June 29, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
