Foremost School

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant to join the team at Foremost School for the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the School Principal and supervising teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students in the development of confidence and competence in all areas of the curriculum, including speaking, writing, and listening skills. Working with both individuals and groups of students, this position will also assist in the delivery of the educational program, tracking student data and student progression with the supervising teacher. The Educational Assistant will promote a positive learning environment while respecting the confidentiality of the teacher, students, and parent community.

Qualifications

● High School Diploma ● Education Assistant certificate or equivalent; preferred ● Strong communication skills; both written and verbal ● Proven ability to work effectively with all students in an inclusive learning environment ● Previous work experience in a learning environment is an asset

Terms of Employment

● 30.0 hours per week ● Monday – Friday; 6.0 hours per day ● August 27th, 2026 – June 25th, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
