Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to provide support for students at Eagle Butte High School for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Working alongside the School Principal and the Learning Support Teacher, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping students navigate the school environment with confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. This position calls for someone who can thoughtfully implement individualized educational plans while remaining calm, adaptable, and responsive to the unique needs of each learner. Educational Assistants at Eagle Butte actively support students in building social connections, encouraging them to explore new experiences and engage positively with their peers, all while upholding their dignity, safety, and well-being. In the classroom, Educational Assistants provide both small group and individualized support under the guidance of the supervising teacher, helping students access learning in meaningful ways. Your work will contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma • Education Assistant certificate or equivalent is preferred • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Experience working with children with complex or diverse learning needs is an asset

Terms of Employment

• Monday – Friday • 30 hours per week; 6 hours per day • August 27, 2026 - June 25, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
