Custodian
Parkside School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a full-time Custodian to join the team at Parkside School as soon as possible. Reporting to the School Principal, the custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, healthy work environment for all staff and students. Using a variety of equipment and chemical products, the custodian will perform all duties while adhering to Occupational Health & Safety guidelines as well as WHMIS regulations. Duties include but are not limited to, cleaning of all rooms & contents, regular garbage collection & removal, maintenance of janitorial equipment, and building security. The custodian will maintain the confidentiality of all information while communicating with students, staff and school visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Qualifications
• Working knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment • Strong communication & comprehension skills; both written and verbal • Proven ability to work independently within a team environment • Physical ability to perform all tasks as required • Previous work experience in a school setting is an asset
Terms of Employment
• Monday – Friday • 7.5 hours per day / 37.5 hours per week • 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Prairie Rose Public Schools serves a predominantly rural population in the South-Eastern region of Alberta, with approximately 3300 students in the communities of Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, and Redcliff. A Board of seven trustees operates 18 Public Schools, 18 Hutterite Colony Schools, and Coulee Collegiate (a distance learning high school in partnership with Medicine Hat Public School Division and the Medicine Hat College). Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
