We are seeking a compassionate, flexible, and relationship-focused Educational Assistant to join our Division Behaviour Support Team. Working alongside the District Behaviour Support Teacher, you will support students whose behavioural, social-emotional, and self-regulation needs create barriers to learning and participation. This unique position provides opportunities to work with students and their support systems, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. What You'll Do: • Build positive, trusting relationships with students. • Support students in developing self-regulation, social-emotional, and problem-solving skills. • Implement individualized strategies and interventions under the guidance of the Division Behaviour Support Teacher. • Assist students during transitions, challenging situations, and periods of dysregulation. • Promote belonging, engagement, and positive participation in school life. • Collaborate with school teams, families, and Student Experiences staff. • Collect observations and data to support student success planning. Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or diploma in Human Services, Disability Studies, or related field • Training in SIVA, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), ASIST, First Aid, or Mental Health First Aid • Strong working knowledge of positive behavior supports, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation strategies • Demonstrated experience supporting students with complex behavioral and sensory regulation needs including, physical stamina, emotional resilience, and quick decision-making abilities • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Terms of Employment

• Location of work: The Link School: Redcliff, AB • Monday – Friday – 6 hours/day; 30 hours/week • August 27, 2026 – June 25, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta and educates approximately 5100 students in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, with two schools in the City of Calgary, as well. The Division consists of 17 public schools, 2 Outreach schools. 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
