Senator Gershaw School

Due to a leave, Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Teacher at Senator Gershaw School. Located in Bow Island, Alberta, Senator Gershaw School provides core programming to over 180 students in Grades 4 through 12, along with an extensive program of extracurricular activities. Under the guidance of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in Grade 4 Language Arts, Science, Math, Fine Arts as well as Grade 6 Language Arts and Fine Arts. Through adequate preparation and organization, the teacher will exhibit excellent classroom management in the promotion of goals and standards as adopted and approved by Alberta Education. Using regular evaluation and reporting, the teacher will encourage and foster lifelong learning in students while maintaining confidentiality and open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a professional team environment while fostering and maintaining a positive, safe, and caring learning environment.

Qualifications

● Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University ● Alberta Teaching Certificate

Terms of Employment

● 1.0 FTE Temporary Teaching Contract ● June 1, 2026 - June 26, 2026

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
