Language Arts Teacher - Part Time

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a 0.5 FTE Probationary Teacher at Schuler School for the 2026-2027 school year. Schuler School is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school with a student population of approx. 70 students, located in the rural Hamlet of Schuler, Alberta, approximately 65 kilometers north-east of Medicine Hat. The school serves a large geographic area and includes students from farm and ranch backgrounds and families from the hamlets of Schuler, Hilda, Golden Prairie and across the border into other areas of Saskatchewan. Schuler School is home to 6 teachers and 4 support staff members. Reporting to the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in Language Arts Grades 5-9, with Jr. High CTF classes included with the assignment. Through adequate preparation and organization, the teacher will exhibit excellent classroom management in the promotion of goals and standards as adopted and approved by Alberta Education. Using regular evaluation and reporting, the teacher will encourage and foster lifelong learning in students while maintaining confidentiality and open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a professional, team environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate
Terms of Employment
• August 27th, 2026 – June 29, 2027 • 0.5 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students.
