Parkside Junior High School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Temporary Science Teacher at Parkside School covering a maternity leave for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Parkside Junior High School is a Grade 7 to Grade 9 school with a student population of 168 students, located in Redcliff, Alberta, just west of Medicine Hat. The school serves the town of Redcliff and surrounding rural areas. Reporting to the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction mainly in Junior High Science, with some CTF elective considerations, while fostering and maintaining a positive, safe, and caring learning environment. Through adequate preparation and organization, the teacher will exhibit excellent classroom management in the promotion of goals and standards as adopted and approved by Alberta Education. Using regular evaluation and reporting, the teacher will encourage and foster lifelong learning in students while maintaining confidentiality and open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a professional team environment. A willingness and an ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities is a definite asset.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction • Strong collaboration and communication skills
Terms of Employment
• 1.0 FTE Temporary Contract • August 27, 2026 – November 6, 2026 (minimum time period)
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta and educates approximately 5100 students in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, with two schools in the City of Calgary, as well. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools. 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
