Vice Principal
South Central High School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and collaborative individual to join the school leadership team at South Central High School (SCHS) for the 2026-2027 school year. Working in partnership with the Principal and school staff, the Vice Principal will support a site based decision making model and demonstrate a strong understanding of the Alberta Leadership Quality Standard. This role requires a skilled instructional leader who is committed to creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences, advancing continuous improvement through evidence based practices, and ensuring the success and well being of all students. The successful candidate will foster positive connections within the school and the broader community, lead initiatives that strengthen high quality educational programming, and build partnerships that enhance student achievement and well being. The Vice Princial will promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility, helping to strengthen relationships among students, staff, families, and community partners. This position may also include a teaching assignment.
Qualifications
● Alberta Teaching Certificate ● Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience ● Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Leadership and Curriculum Studies is an asset ● Alberta Leadership Quality Standards Certification course
Terms of Employment
• August 26, 2026 – June 29, 2027 • 1.0 FTE with Probationary Administrative Designation
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
