Parkside School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Principal to lead the school community at Parkside School for the 2026–2027 school year. Parkside School serves approximately 175 students in Grades 7 to 9 and is supported by a dedicated team of 11 teachers and 8 support staff. Located in the town of Redcliff, Alberta—just a 10 km commute from Medicine Hat—Parkside School offers diverse programming and rich learning opportunities within a technology-enhanced environment. The school is recognized for its strong academic focus and engaging elective offerings, including the Fine Arts Academy and the South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA). Reporting to the Superintendent, the successful candidate will bring a strong academic background and demonstrated leadership skills, and will thrive in a collegial, site-based management environment. Working collaboratively with the Vice Principal and school staff, the Principal will demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships, provide instructional leadership, support a vibrant learning community, and contribute to the effective management of school operational resources. The role may also include limited classroom teaching responsibilities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Master of Education Degree from an accredited University - a concentration in Leadership and Curriculum Studies will be considered an asset • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
Terms of Employment
• August 26, 2026 – June 29, 2027 • 1.0 FTE with Probationary Administrative Designation
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
