Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Vice Principal to join the administrative leadership team at Isabel F. Cox School, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Isabel F. Cox School is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 school located in the town of Redcliff, Alberta, a quick 10 km commute from Medicine Hat. The school serves approximately 190 students in Kindergarten through Grade 3, as well as an additional 45 students enrolled in the Junior Kindergarten program. Isabel F. Cox School is committed to inspiring and engaging students within an inclusive learning environment that values and promotes respect for others. The school also offers a KinderCare program, along with Before and After School care. Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will bring a strong academic background and demonstrated leadership abilities. Within a collegial, site-based management environment, the Vice Principal will contribute to fostering a positive and supportive educational climate. Working collaboratively with the Principal and school staff, the Vice Principal will build effective relationships, provide instructional leadership, and demonstrate the ability to support a thriving learning community. The role will also involve participation in the management of school operational resources and will include classroom teaching responsibilities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom instruction • Master’s Degree from an accredited University with a concentration in Leadership & Curriculum Studies will be considered an asset
Terms of Employment
• August 26, 2026 – June 29, 2027 • 1.0 FTE with Probationary Administrative Designation
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
