In March 2023, Prairie Rose Public Schools received design funding approval for the Redcliff Solution Project as part of the province's 2023 K-12 schools Capital Plan announcement. The initial Redcliff Solution proposed (as proposed in the PRPS Capital Plan) included a review of all three Redcliff schools and Prairie Mennonite Alternative School (currently located in Medicine Hat) to consider the most optimal solution for students and the future of Redcliff. In the months that followed, Prairie Rose met with members of Redcliff Town Council, school councils and received informal feedback from the Redcliff community members. Based on this feedback, it became apparent that the preferred solution for residents was to keep the grade configurations and schools as they were in Redcliff and focus entirely on improving Parkside Jr High School (7-9).

In September 2023, Prairie Rose Public Schools was informed that GEC Architecture out of Calgary had been awarded the project and the first meeting with Alberta Infrastructure occured. At that meeting, Prairie Rose shared the community feedback that had been received and confirmed the position that all funds provided for the project should be allocated to improvements and the expansion of Parkside Jr High School.
