Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking an exceptionally dedicated and proficient educator to join the high-performing academic environment as a Junior High Mathematics Teacher (Grades 7-9) at Seven Persons School. The successful candidate will be a high-impact instructor, instrumental in cultivating a rigorous, challenging, and safe learning environment, that drives student mastery and academic excellence in mathematics. Key Responsibilities: • Differentiated Instruction: Deliver high-quality, rigorous math instruction for Gr.7–9, meeting diverse student needs. • Data-Informed Practice: Use consistent assessment and data analysis to monitor progress and continuously refine instruction. • High-Expectations: Maintain a structured and positive classroom that promotes focus, discipline, and learning. • Clear Communication: Communicate professionally and confidentially with parents/guardians, providing timely updates on student progress and interventions. • Professional Collaboration: Actively contribute to the professional learning community through collaboration, curriculum development, and shared best practices.
Qualifications
● Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University ● Alberta Teaching Certificate ● Proven Proficiency: Successful instruction in Grades 7-9 Mathematics, particularly for high student achievement
Terms of Employment
● 0.5 FTE Temporary Teaching Contract ● Monday - Friday (mornings only) ● February 2, 2026 - June 26, 2026
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
