Prairie Rose Public Schools is excited to welcome a passionate Physical Education Teacher and Hockey Academy Instructor to Irvine School for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. Located just 20 minutes from Medicine Hat, Irvine School serves approximately 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in a vibrant, close-knit learning community, offering exceptional opportunities for every learner, along with innovative programs such as the Agricultural Discovery Centre, the South Alberta Hockey Academy, and the Mavericks School of Baseball. Under the guidance of the school principal, you will deliver dynamic, skill-focused Physical Education instruction in Kindergarten through Grade 9. You will also work collaboratively with the South Alberta Hockey Academy every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, leading students in dryland training, nutrition, leadership, systems, and sport psychology. Qualifications
● Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University; Physical Education ● Alberta Teaching Certificate
Terms of Employment
● 0.91 FTE Temporary Teaching Contract ● January 30, 2026 (may be sooner) – June 26, 2026
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
