Student Wellness Counsellor

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Full Time Student Wellness Counsellor to support our students and families at Oyen Public School, South Central High School, Warren Peers School, New Bridgen School, and Jenner School. Under the guidance of the Director of Psychological Services, the successful candidate will provide individual counselling for students and families and assess student and family needs in the development and implementation of treatment plans. Working collaboratively with the Principals and school staff, the SWC will facilitate the organization of school groups to provide appropriate social interaction as well as provide information to students, staff, and parents through presentations. The SWC will work as a team member with appropriate community services and make referrals to community agencies as required. This position is an integral member of the division and area Crisis Response Teams and Risk Threat Assessment Teams. Qualifications
Bachelor of Social Work Degree from an accredited University; other related degree may be considered Registered Social Worker designation with ACSW; preferred Experience in a school environment is an asset
Terms of Employment
1.0 FTE — 5 days per week August 27, 2026 - June 29, 2027
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
