Elkwater Colony School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Part Time Educational Assistant to join the team at Elkwater Colony School for the 2026-2027 school year. Elkwater Colony is approximately 55 km from Medicine Hat. Reporting to the Colony Principal, the successful candidate will work with the two kindergarten students for the 26-27 school year. Under the direct supervision of the Colony Principal, the EA will deliver the kindergarten AB ED curriculum. The Educational Assistant will promote a positive learning environment while respecting the confidentiality of the teacher, students, and parent community.
Qualifications
● High School Diploma; required ● Education Assistant certificate or equivalent; considered an asset ● Strong communication skills; both written and verbal ● Proven ability to work effectively with all students in an inclusive learning environment ● Previous work experience in a learning environment is an asset ● Ability to work independently & in a team setting ● Willingness to learn & use educational technology platforms
Terms of Employment
August 27, 2026 – June 26, 2027 10 hours per week; 2.5 hours/day. 4 days/week
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta and educates approximately 3400 students in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools and 19 Hutterite Colony schools. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
