Educational Assistant
Irvine School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Full Time Educational Assistant to join the team at Irvine School for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Under the guidance of the School Principal and Supervising Teacher, the Educational Assistant will be responsible for providing individual assistance to a student with unique personal and educational needs. An ability to learn skills to promote student inclusiveness, creating the opportunity for the student to fully function in a school setting while building relationships, will be essential. The Educational Assistant will promote a positive learning environment while respecting the confidentiality of the staff, students, and parent community.
Qualifications
● High School Diploma ● Education Assistant certificate or equivalent; preferred ● Strong communication skills; both written and verbal ● Proven ability to work effectively with all students in an inclusive learning environment ● Previous work experience in a learning environment is considered an asset
Terms of Employment
• End of February to June 25, 2026; or upon return of the incumbent • Monday – Friday • 5.5 hours per day/ 27.5 hours per week
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
