Eagle Butte High School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a custodian to join the team at Eagle Butte High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in Dunmore, AB, EBHS serves approximately 580 students, both rural and urban, in grades 10 through 12. Reporting to the Vice-Principal and Custodial Supervisor and working under the direction and guidance of the Head Custodian, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all staff and students. Using a variety of equipment and approved chemical products, the Custodian performs assigned duties in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards and WHMIS regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning and sanitizing all rooms and contents, regular garbage collection and removal, maintenance of janitorial equipment, and ensuring building security. The Custodian is expected to maintain the confidentiality of all information and to communicate with students, staff, and visitors in a friendly, respectful, and welcoming manner.
Qualifications
● Physical ability to perform all tasks as required ● Working knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment ● Strong communication and comprehension skills – both written and verbal ● Proven ability to work independently ● WHMIS Certificate and knowledge of safe work practices ● Previous work experience in a school setting is an asset ● Ability to provide routine maintenance and minor repairs is an asset
Terms of Employment
• Monday – Friday – 2:00 pm - 9:30 pm September to June • Day Shift for summer cleaning in July and August • 7 hours per day/35 hours per week • Start Date: September 1, 2026

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 19 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
