Starbrite Colony School
Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking to fill the Colony Teacher/Principal position at Starbrite Colony School. Located approximately 10 km SW of Foremost, AB, Starbrite Colony serves the needs of approximately 28 students in Grades K-9. Under the guidance of the Colony Supervisor, the successful candidate will possess a strong academic background as this position will provide classroom instruction in a multi-graded classroom setting to all students, grades K through 9. Colony teachers in Prairie Rose Public Schools are given Principal designation, however, the duties of a Colony Principal at an individual colony school are different than a public-school principal (with larger enrolments and staff). Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate • Comprehensive understanding of the Alberta curriculum • Ability to plan and teach in a dynamic learning environment • Respect and understanding of the Hutterite culture
Terms of Employment
• 1.0 FTE Probationary Teaching Contract • Immediate start date
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
