Educational Assistant

Irvine School

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a full-time Educational Assistant to join the team at Irvine School for the 2026/27 school year. Based in elementary grades, working with a non-verbal student, reporting to School Administration and the Supervising Teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of confidence, including speaking, writing, and listening skills. Also, the successful individual will, at times, work with both individual and groups of students. This position will also assist in the delivery of the educational program, tracking student progression with the supervising teacher. The Educational Assistant will promote a positive learning environment while respecting the confidentiality of the teacher, students, and parent community.

Qualifications

● High School Diploma ● Education Assistant certificate or equivalent; preferred ● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal ● Proven ability to work effectively with all students in an inclusive learning environment ● Previous work experience in a learning environment is an asset

Terms of Employment

● Monday – Friday ● 27.5 hours per week – 5.5 hours per day ● August 27, 2026 (or as soon as possible to this date) - June 25, 2027

About Prairie Rose Public Schools:

Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta and educates approximately 5100 students in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, with two schools in the City of Calgary, as well. The Division consists of 17 public schools, 2 Outreach schools. 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
