Substitute School Bus Drivers

Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking Substitute Bus Drivers to join the transportation team for the Oyen area. Prairie Rose Public Schools operates 89 bus routes covering a large geographical region (29,117 sq kilometres). As a primarily rural school division, the majority of our 5,000 students are brought to school by bus. Reporting to the Director of Transportation, successful candidates will ensure the safe and timely arrival of students to surrounding schools. Our ideal candidates will possess a courteous and friendly demeanor while promoting a fun but orderly atmosphere on the school bus. Drivers will maintain open communication with school administrators, parents, and guardians, while respecting confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
• Valid Class 2 AB Drivers License with S Endorsement; required* • Basic First Aid Certificate; required* • Working knowledge and understanding of all relevant federal, provincial, and municipal laws *Prairie Rose Public schools will train approved applicants
Terms of Employment
• Currently living in the Oyen area or willing to commute • Flexible and able to be called in on short notice • Monday – Friday
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
