Schuler School
Due to a leave, Prairie Rose Public Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher at Schuler School for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Schuler School is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school with a student population of 74 students, located in the rural hamlet of Schuler, Alberta, approximately 65 kilometers north-east of Medicine Hat. Schuler School is home to 6 teachers and 5 support staff members. Under the guidance of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Kindergarten instruction. The teacher will demonstrate strong preparation, organization, and classroom management skills while supporting the goals and standards established by Alberta Education. Through ongoing assessment and reporting, the teacher will promote and nurture lifelong learning in students, maintaining confidentiality and fostering open communication with parents and guardians. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively within a professional, team oriented environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University • Alberta Teaching Certificate
Terms of Employment
• 0.6 FTE Temporary Teaching Contract • Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday – full days • Anticipated Start Date is Mid to Late March • End date: June 26, 2026; or upon return of the incumbent
About Prairie Rose Public Schools:
Prairie Rose School Division is primarily located in the South-Eastern region of Alberta in the communities of: Bow Island, Cypress County, County of 40 Mile, Foremost, MD of Acadia Valley, Oyen, Redcliff and Special Areas, along with two schools in the City of Calgary. The Division consists of 18 public schools, 2 Outreach schools, 2 Alternative Program schools, and 18 Hutterite Colony schools and educates approximately 6500 students. Our Division office is located in Dunmore, Alberta, near the city of Medicine Hat.
